16-11-2014 Eurolamp WRT got the place in Top-10 of WRC 2 on Wales Rally GB
The last event of the World Rally Championship, Wales Rally GB, is over. It has brought the 7th position in WRC 2 for Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia: they were fighting during 23 special stages and 305 km, solving tactical tasks and technical problems - and finally Ukrainian team had one more rally with great experience value and good result. Wales Rally GB is one of the toughest rallies of the world championship. It is mentioned as gravel event, but in fact with the help of rains it always turns into the total mud and slippery road. So to reach the finish means to get highly important experience that was the aim for Eurolamp WRT.

And we can say that this event was quite good for Ukrainian team: on the shakedown Gorban made the fourth time in WRC 2. Later he had a brilliant Friday section with the results in Top-3 in WRC 2. Unfortunately he had lost his place after a spin and the light touch of the wall but he kept the 7th place for the whole Friday. However, the team's goal was to reach the finish line without retirements and restarts, and it was the object to fulfill during the rally.

Saturday has brought some technical troubles with suspension for our team - Valery Gorban did his best to strengthen his position but suddenly he hit the stone, and had to change the broken part. Happily the crew solved the trouble and continued the race. But the time was lost. So Ukrainian team took the 7th line and kept it till the end of the rally. "This is a very difficult race, and we are excited to be at the finish today, it was not easy: there were a lot of dangerous and difficult moments. But everything is fine - the main task is completed. Sometimes we were fast, but for better results we need more stability, "- said Valery Gorban.

Due to the successful finish in Wales Rally GB Eurolamp World Rally Team has risen up to the third place in the teams ranking in WRC 2. We congratulate all participants and fans of the WRC with the end of the season! Many thanks for this great experience!

15-11-2014 WALES RALLY GB to get and to loose
Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia had the tough Saturday - the second day brought some contradictory results for Eurolamp WRT. After all nine stages of Saturday were completed Ukrainian crew got the 7th position in the WRC 2. But 100 penalty seconds for the late entry to SS15 added more time to the Valerys Gorban and Vladimirs Korsia day results.

There were some pleasant moments for the participants of Wales Rally GB it wasnt raining during Saturday, and the temperature got slightly above 12 C. Unfortunately it didnt helped a lot with mud and water on the road special stages stayed dirty, slippery and dangerous as well. The first section was quite good for Valery Gorban: no impressive flat-outs up to Top 3 in WRC 2 but stable enough to keep the pace. The best result of Saturday was the fifth time at the final special stage of the day, SS17. The live timing showed us the 7th position for Valery Gorban but it wasnt the end of the story Not yet.

The day wasnt smooth at all at SS14, the first one in the second section, the rear suspension was broken and the crew had to replace it immediately. It took too much time and finally caused the lat arrival to the SS15: ten minutes of delay turned into impressive 100 seconds of penalty. "It was the tough day; - said Valeriy Gorban we were looking for fast and safe pace all the day and Im not sure that we succeed. But the most important thing - we're keeping going, our goal is the finish line". Lets wait for Sunday and its six stages.

14-11-2014 WALES RALLY GB meeting a challenge
The first day of the Wales Rally GB, Friday, had eight special stages, and two sections of 145 kilometers. Ukrainian team Eurolamp WRT had tough struggle during the whole day and sometimes the results of this efforts were great but sometimes that Friday was really hard to swallow. Valeriy Gorban made some really fast special stages, and took the 7th position in WRC 2.

The weather, mud, water and slippery surface have made a name for this rally. Ukraianian rally team wasn't taken aback with the special British weather because it was the 2nd time with MINI Wales Rally GB for our team: "Compared to the last year, there are not so many changes in the road configuration, - said Vladimir Korsia. - But the weather has changed a lot. This year we had more of rain and the roads are very dirty, slippery, and in some places - extremely slippery! ".

Valeriy Gorban started the day very successfully, he was second in WRC 2 cathegory, but later the Ukrainian driver slips from the 2nd to the 7th in WRC2 after a spin in SS3 and another - and a light touch with a wall - in SS4. However, no surprises about that situation - crews are always ready to deal with mistakes and troubles in Wales. So the first section was done not so great - only the 10nd place and of course it couldn't make the team happy. But the challenge has just begun and from the very beginning of the 2nd lap Valery Gorban went faster and faster: Gorban shows a second time on the special stages SS5 and SS6. He won some positions back and finally completed the day with the 7th result in WRC 2.

So for the next day Gorban is standing in the middle of the WRC 2 ranking. Saturday is going to bring the new challenge for the team

26-10-2014 Rally of Spain the 6th place for Gorban
Rally of Spain, the last but one event of World Rally Championship, was successfully completed for Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia: Ukrainian crew took the 6th position in WRC 2. The race was not easy for Ukrainian team, with enough of ups and downs, Eurolamp WRT kept cool head in the very difficult situations and finally completed this rally.

Valeriy Gorban made some sensations on Friday: Ukrainian driver was fast, strong and tough competitor, therefore he easily got the third. Gravel part of Rally Spain was easy and pleasant for our crew, but unfortunately it wasnt long enough. The car hit a stone, the arm of suspension was broken, and penalty made a huge gap between Ukrainian crew and the Top-3.

Rally of Spain had two next two sections of asphalt - Saturday was quite good for Gorban, he got his 6th position, defending it under the attack by competitors. The most significant achievement was made at SS13 Gorban got the third time in WRC 2. Crews took the longest SS, 50-km long, twice on Saturday: Its not easy to drive those kind of stages, - said Valeriy Gorban. But fortunately we had no problems with it, and even more - the second approach helped us to improve our time ".

The final section of Sunday brought some more hard time for Eurolamp WRT: "Sunday had a dramatic moment, when we had turn on the road, lost time. We thought ok, its our biggest trouble now, because Karl Kruuda is too close and we are going to miss our position. But nothing terrible had happened - even with a turn we managed to maintain our priority, we had only three seconds more, but it was enough to keep our 6th place",- said Ukrainian pilot.

For the moment Eurolamp WRT has only one WRC event left in its schedule. It will be Rally Wales in November.

25-10-2014 Rally of Spain MINI and asphalt
Saturday became the 1st totally asphalt day of Rally Spain and it was some kind of equator of the race. The toughest events of the rally had already happened and Sunday is going to be more or less short final part of the itinerary. Leaders will have their own tasks to keep places and high positions and other drivers will have to collect as more points as possible. Eurolamp WRT and Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia had stable pace on Saturday it was rather impossible to fight for Top-3 with the huge Friday penalty. But the team decided to take every opportunity from this day and finally Gorban completed Saturday with the 6th time in WRC 2.

Valeriy Gorban had this day with step by step strategy with no real interest in some positions in the total ranking but with the whole attention focused on the special stages. And they were quite good for Valery Gorban, including the longest marathon Escaladei with 50-km distance. Gorban had the 7th time here for the first time and was the 5th with the second try. Till the end of the day Gorban was always faster than Nicholas Fusch, and made a special gift for his fans at SS13 the 3rd time. Therefore Gorban took the 6th line in WRC 2 - the team is going to overcome four special stages and about 72 km of SS distance on Sunday.

24-10-2014 Rally of Spain Eurolamp WRT needs one more try
Eurolamp WRT and Valery Gorban made theirs fans keep all attention for Fridays action of Rally Spain - after yesterday's special stage in Barcelona Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia were really fast and good on the gravel part of Rally Catalonia. During the first section Gorban kept the pace and his place in Top 5 of WRC 2. He had the 2nd time at SS3 (after Karl Kruuda). After all this attempts Gorban and Korsia finally got the 3rd place after SS4: only 6.1 seconds after Sebastian Chardonnay (the 2nd) and more and than 20 seconds from Nicolas Fuchs (the 4th time).

However, Valery Gorban suddenly disappeared from the on-line timing at SS5. "Everything was good for on the first lap, but on the first special stage after the service, just three kilometers after the start, we hit some kind of stone in one of the corners, damaged the suspension, and left the race. The car is OK in general, so we restart tomorrow", - said Vladimir Korsia about that. On Saturday, the participants are moving to asphalt there are six special stages in the schedule, including the longest Escaladei, with length 50 km.

23-10-2014 Rally of Spain - the beginning
Barcelona became a huge stage for the official start ceremony for Rally RACC on Thursday all drivers took part in short but very entertaining stage. Tarmac part of the very beginning of Rally Spain had only 3.2 km of distance and was more important to the fans than to the drivers. So Ukrainian crew from Eurolamp WRT, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsia, began the first day of WRC 2 fighting with shakedown and SS1.
Valeriy Gorban finished the shakedown section with the 7th time: he made it two times. "The organizers have prepared this special stage in a mixed way - gravel with asphalt, so I have found it a bit slower than the roads we will have during the race. We are getting ready to the rally so now we are focused on the car and our crew, everything is set up and work good. Thats the only thing what matters," - said Valery.
So, everything has just began: Friday (gravel) and Saturday (asphalt) are the main days of Rally Spain, and finally asphalt Sunday complete the schedule.

20-10-2014 Rally of Spain - Ukraine takes the challenge
The 12th event of the World Rally Championship WRC 2014 is going to begin next Thursday Rally de Espana has the administrative centre and the service park near Salou and has four days in racing schedule with 17 SS and 373 km of racing distance. Ukrainian rally team Eurolamp WRT, with Valery Gorban and Vladimir Corsya crew, takes part in this rally we have only two races left in teams programme for WRC 2 for 2014.

Valeriy Gorban has already started on the Catalonia roads but it was with his PWRC season in 2012. Last year the team has changed the cars for MINI JCW and moved to the WRC 2 category. So Gorban is looking forward of his come back there.

The team tasks are very clear: maximum attack and finish with the highest possible result. The special personality of the rally is in its special stages: some are held on asphalt and others on gravel. "In fact there is no comparison between Spain and other asphalt rallies, for example, the Rally of Germany WRC or Yalta Rally in Ukraine because of the tarmac itself. Here in Spain, we can say it is perfect really high quality, close to circuit racing",- said Valery Gorban about the upcoming race.

03-08-2014 Neste Oil Rally Finland done for Eurolamp WRT.
Ukrainian rally team Eurolamp WRT completed this WRC event Rally Finland had four days and become the real challenge for cars and crews. Valery Gorban and Vladimir Corsya had extremely tough competition this time: they were fighting with damages, found the wheel of theirs MINI broken twice, took the restart with Rally2 and finally completed the rally. Thereby Rally Finland brought only the seventh and final position in the WRC 2 for Eurolamp WRT. However Ukrainians got very important experience during this event and fun and pleasure of the fast roads.

This year roads of Rally Finland looked not really "Finnish" sometimes: this rally had hard, fast and wide roads usually but this time drivers discovered that only one round of each day was really great. After day service crews found the road damaged: deep track, stones and even holes appeared exactly at the line. Of course, all those bad surprises caused consequences: numerous punctures, damages to wheels and suspension. Valery Gorban faced this problem too: damaged rim damaged the brakes thereby the crew lost too much time.

However, if technical troubles didnt influence the crews pace, Eurolamp WRT could show their potential completely. Valery Gorban was one of Top 5 in WRC 2 at some special stages, and made good progress in WRC 2 protocol. Despite the unexpected troubles during the race and hard road conditions Rally Finland itself remains one of the most beautiful and interesting races in the world. So Ukrainian crew can confirm we got a lot of pleasure, as well as necessary experience and driving skills. And Top 3 in WRC 2 selebrated Estonian Karl Kruuda, Jari Ketomaa and Ott Tanak. We would like to thank all our fans for support and attention to our rally!

02-08-2014 Eurolamp WRT it could be better
The third day of Rally Finland brought some really great news for Eurolamp WRT team but soon they were replaced with bad luck. During the first part of Saturday Ukrainians were fast and stable enough to take the 6th position in WRC 2. But they met the puncture and broken brakes in the very beginning of the second round of the day and unfortunately it caused restart of our crew again.

Saturday wasnt an easy day for Ukrainian rally fans Ukrainian representatives were four but during that day they stayed only two crews. Thats why Gorban and Korsya got the biggest portion of spectators attention they were fastest Ukrainian crew for that moment. And indeed, Saturday morning was really successful for Eurolamp WRT crew. First, Gorban began with the 7th time, and after he "shot out" in three special stages with the fifth time. Besides that our crew got unexpected improvement of his position - Sebastian Chardonnet was out and thereby Gorban moved one position higher. So the first round of Saturday finished with the 6th position for Ukrainian driver.

Unfortunately that was the last lucky moment for Ukrainian team at SS20 Gorban got puncture and damaged brakes. He lost more than 19 minutes and left the race. Classical fast and challenging roads of Rally Finland became dangerous for wheel and tires this year rocks and stones appeared exactly at the turns, so lot of drivers met punctures and damages. That was the bad luck for Valery Gorban too. Finally the team decided to restart on Sunday.

Sunday is the shortest day of the rally, so crews are going to have only short distance to finish the race. Of course, its not enough to change the situation in the WRC 2 table, but our crew will finish Sunday under Rally2 regulations.

01-08-2014 Eurolamp WRT despite difficulties
Friday section was difficult for Eurolamp WRT team we finished the day on the 7th position but it was quite hard complete that task. Luckily the weather was better and no rain over the roads, so it was possible to push a bit more during the day. Gorban and Korsya have made some good shots during the day so we were satisfied with our results two 5th times in WRC 2 on SSs. But later we had met some more troubles unfortunately, at SS12 (the one before last) the arm of suspension of Ukrainian MINI was broken. And also we had troubles with transmission thereby we had to finish the day with the rear-drive MINI in fact. The mail goal was just to keep car alive till the service and luckily we are ready to start tomorrow.

31-07-2014 Eurolamp WRT starting with the rain And the stone!
Neste Oil Rally Finland started on Thursday with four special stages and despite the short distance this day was quite interesting and full of unexpected surprises. First of all the race has begun with the rain: it was told in the forecasts before thats why all crews were thinking about rain chance.

The rain stopped by the end of the day but the road remained challenging, and participants said that besides the classical difficulties Rally Finland had received even more of them. "The road was pretty slippery during whole day, and we had to be really careful and till SS3 we was ok about that, - told Vladimir Korsya. - But than we met two troubles one by one. First we broke the wheel and the rim broke the brakes. W e stopped at the stage, changed everything and than continued our race. But for 500 meters only! There were some stones on the road and we had met one of them after crest: the jump was high and at the landing moment we had damaged the radiator. So Rally2 for us for tomorrow, - continued Korsya. Ukrainian crew had the 7th line in WRC 2 before accident.

Fridays part of Rally Finland consists of 9 superstages. So the challenge is going to be even more tough.

28-07-2014 Eurolamp WRT going to the fastest rally in the world
Neste Oil Rally Finland is known as the fastest rally in the world and this year it is going to be held 31.07 03.08. Thereby Valeriy Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya are going to spend four days fighting with the most dangerous competitors at the fastest roads in the WRC full with the highest jumps. Ukrainian rally team Eurolamp WRT has the great summer this year we had Rally Poland in the end of June and Rally Finland this month, so two extremely fast races go one by one in Eurolamp WRT schedule.

And Ukrainian team appreciates it. Such tough racing program with the best rallies helps Eurolamp WRT to keep the good pace: Valeriy Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya have spent almost the whole time between two rallies doing tests with their MINI. Some tests were held in Carpathians and some in Estonia. All roads which were chosen for teams program helped to make adjustment to Ukrainians MINI. There isn't really a secret setup for the car in Finland but we know the MINI has good stability in the fast sections and the engine is strong so this type of event suits us well. The handling needs to be very precise so that the driver can make small adjustments with the steering at high speed. So the only thing to watch out for is not to be too soft with the suspension and then loose the precise feeling for the driver, - said Allen Russel, teams engineer.

Neste Oil Rally Finland is going to prove its slogan More than Rally. There are lots of spectators activities and the itinerary itself are build with classical Finland uniqueness like huge and long jumps, forest roads, quick sections and so on. This type of rally makes each driver to push out from the very beginning so the battle is going to be really competitive. Lorenzo Bertelli, actual leader of WRC 2 classification, skips WRC 2 at Rally Finland he starts out for the classification. Thereby all challengers are going to do their best to win scores. Gorban needs Rally Finland being done as better as possible he plans to improve his position in WRC 2 classification too.

29-06-2014 Lotos Rally Poland Ukraine finished with the 4th time in WRC2
Ukrainians finished Lotos Rally Poland with the excellent result - Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya got the 4th place in WRC-2. They earned necessary points and thereby improved its position significantly. Valery Gorban has been to Lotos Rally Poland once, so this year is his second visit to that race but this time with MINI JCW RRC. Of course, this time the race has changes in its configuration: "There were some places that looked familiar for me, - said our driver - but the road was completely new mostly". Gorban had a tough but sufficient race. He finished with the 6th place on Thursday, took some good times on Friday and improved his result during the first section of Saturday he moved to the fifth. By the way, Saturday brought the longest special stages to drivers, up to 35 kilometers, so it took stability and self-confidence to complete the day. Unfortunately, not everybody could say the same - Martin Kangur had a bad luck on Saturday which damaged car out. This incident moved Valery Gorban up to the fourth position in WRC-2 Saturday. "We did our best and we are very happy to finish this race on a high position. Lotos Rally Poland is extremely fast, - said Valery Gorban. - I can even say that some special stages are really faster than Finland. Finland, of course, also has high-speed reputation, but here in Poland there are places where we go some kilometers with "full throttle", without braking in small turns. I consider Rally Poland like the rally of co-drivers: you need to work with pace-notes as carefully as possible and even more". Congratulations to the team!

28-06-2014 Lotos Rally Poland push more, Ukraine!
Ukrainian crew finished the Saturday section of Lotos Rally Poland in great mood. There were two reasons behind that: the first, Saturday had all planned stages completed except one and therefore drivers had not met disappointment about ruined roads. And the second reason really impressive result for Eurolamp WRT, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya: they reached the 4th place in WRC-2. And this is the best result for our crew during Lotos Rally Poland for the moment.

After chaotic Friday with cancellations of special stages, the rally has finally completed its program: with strong struggle but steadily. The race was quite good for Ukrainian driver from the very beginning of the day: Eurolamp WRT driver broke into the Top-3 on SS11 and had the 5th position after the day service. Bernardo Sousa, Yazeed Al-Rajhi and Nicolas Fuchs are our main competitors for this rally and the race was really tough. Saturday's section included narrow and slippery special stages with up to four different types of surface therefore it wasnt easy fo Gorban keep the high pace and stay safe on the road.

WRC 2 ranking was changed once more after the day Martin Kangur had lost the wheel just before the finish of SS16. He was the third before that pity accident, and after he left his competitors moved one position up thats why Valery Gorban also moved to the 4th line of WRC-2. But even without that unexpected "gift" from his competitor, Ukrainian can feel absolutely satisfied with his day. Gorban managed to improve his actual position but also he reduced the gap to the leaders of WRC-2. So, Lotos Rally Poland has only four stages for Sunday section and this Polish story will be ended. We hope that happy end will come for Ukrainian crew and wish good luck for all drivers.

27-06-2014 Lotos Rally Poland Ukraine does well, Lithuania faces troubles.
The second day of Lotos Rally Poland pleased Ukrainian fans rally and upset Lithuanian: Eurolamp WRT crew, Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya, had a perfect day with the 6th result in WRC-2, keeping Top 5 pace during the day. But most of special stages in Lithuania have been canceled or cut. So Saturday had some good and not so news, but finally all WRC-2 competitors have completed their tasks.

Friday's program of Lotos Rally Poland had taugh racing schedule: drivers were intended to pass several special stages located in Lithuania and that go back to Poland. Lithuanian part of the rally was completely new, so it was quite intriguing to meet new roads. Unfortunately crews had to return empty-handed heavy rains earlier in the week damaged the roads. They were extremely rough and with many spectators roadside, so organizers cancelled SS7 and SS8 for safety reasons.

However, those special stages, which took place in normal mode, have brought some fun to drivers. There was a great struggle in WRC-2 during the first half of the day - top five drivers were really active. So Valery Gorban took part in that competition too, making good times at SS. He spent Friday confidently: the fourth, and the third time. Pity but the second round didnt give Gorban more chances to improve his result because of cancellations, so Ukrainian driver finished on the sixth line, and made a safe pace for the last part of the rally.

Rally has another impressive long day on Saturday - and again it is completed in Mikolajki. Good news for crews: they do not have to go abroad and all stages are held in Poland. But Lotos Rally Poland has enough surprises still, for example Saturday includes the longest 35-kilometer stages. Good luck to everyone!

26-06-2014 Lotos Rally Poland good pace for Ukraine.
The 1st day of Lotos Rally Poland was quite good for Valeriy Gorban, Ukrainian rally team Eurolamp WRT driver: according to live timing he got the 6th line in WRC 2 ranking and spent his day without any troubles with the car. Rally program includes four days of tough challenge and usually Thursday is the shortest one. This time starting section consisted of three special stages, one of them - Super-Special held for the spectators pleasure at the stadium in city Mikolajki.

Despite the fact that the first day was really short everybody had to fight in the real battle mode from the very beginning of the race. The road had some unexpected surprises for the drivers: after SS1 finish some admitted that stages were even faster and more complicated than it was expected. Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya are the only Ukrainian crew in WRC2, and their total amount of scores need to be improved. Valery Gorban has spent some days of testing before this race and he chosen the roads similar to soft and fast roads in Poland. So according to stable results of Ukrainian drivers we could say that previous tests were done well. Gorban completed Thursday with the 6th result in WRC2 and all competitors in this category finished very close to each other. That means that the main struggle is going to be very hot!

Lotos Rally Poland claims to be the fastest WRC race. So it looks like it has all chances to win this title but it will take four day to find out if this rally is really as fast as it promised and if some drivers are really ready to catch the possibility for great results. Friday is waiting.

23-06-2014 Lotos Rally Poland two countries for one rally.
WRC comes close to Ukraine this week-end - Lotos Rally Poland starts this Thursday and lasts till Sunday. Unique rally with a huge history will take place the 71th time in this year! And Valery Gorban, the driver of Eurolamp WRT, takes part in this race for the second time in his career. Ukrainian driver had his debut here in 2009 - Gorban drove Mitsubishi Lancer Evo in production cars and took the third place. Now its great to be back: Valery Gorban and Vladimir Corsya start in the one of the most spectacular and popular classification - WRC2 with their MINI JCW RRC.

Lotos Rally Poland returns to the World Championship calendar after some missed years. Now the managers of the race introduce really great and interesting program. One of the highlights of Lotos Rally Poland will be the location of special stages: some of them are going to pass through Poland, as well the part of super stages are going to be held in Lithuania. All Lithuanian and Polish stages are completely new in the race history. The second interesting feature of the upcoming race is the length of special stages - no too long special stages in Poland, the maximum distance is just about 35 km. And the last, the road itself is going to be difficult - configuration is so fast that Lotos Rally Poland will close to Rally Finland.

The first day of competition is Thursday, but most difficult and long are Friday and Saturday. The program includes evening special stages (some start really late, in the dark). The challenge Lotos Rally Poland is going to be presented very soon!

08-06-2014 Rally Italia Sardegna can we have a bit more please?
Rally Italia Sardegna is over and for Ukrainian rally team Eurolamp WRT this race was extremely complicated. But it is one of the most interesting and stunning rallies in WRC calendar still so we are really happy to met that challenge. Of course we had too many troubles, accidents and lost of time that it was absolutely impossible to reach the top lines in WRC 2. But despite of our dissatisfaction of the formal result we are glad to pass the race.

Valery Gorban explained that this time we were like a fish out of water: We had troubles during the whole race except of Sunday section. We broke wheel on Friday, had restart on Saturday and than lost a lot of time after the first stage of that day. But the worst thing was to find out that two 60-kilometer SS Monte Lerno were canceled twice. And exactly before our car! I even can hardly express our feelings when we were standing at the start gate, looking at the seconds and They stop us! So if I could chose, Id love to have two more days of Rally Sardegna more because our race has just begun.

Despite of all those unpleasant things during the race Ukrainian team is optimistic about future rallies. Our MINI worked perfectly today and allowed the crew to fulfill their racing goals, the rally was really great ans interesting even with some pity surprises from the itinerary changes. So we are getting ready to the next events of WRC 2014.

07-06-2014 Rally Italia Sardegna the whole day drama
Saturday section of Rally Italia Sardegna brought a lot of hot moments to all teams and crews there were some really unexpected and hectic changes in top results and other participants had enough of surprises, and they were not always pleasant. Saturday became also ambiguous for Ukrainian team: Valeriy Gorban reached the finish line of the day but his result could hardly be considered as sufficient Gorban had only the last line in WRC 2 standings.

The day was really hard. Saturday's section had only four special stages but it had also two runs of 60-kilometer SS Monte Lerno. Some participants reported that it will be interesting and challenging stage, but in fact it went in other way. Due to accidents Monte Lerno had been canceled twice. So our crew even had not an opportunity to pass this stage in normal race mode.

But Ukrainian driver had his own reasons to loose positions Gorban made a mistake at the first Saturdays SS, and that was a critical mistake for the day. He moved down to the end of the results and even better pace after couldnt recompense that gap. Our crew has finished the day and thats the only good news.

The final day of Rally Italia Sardegna also consists of four special stages, but they are only 48 km long. Of course, such short distance is not enough for real fight. We just need to finish the race without problems and put an end to this "Italian story."

06-06-2014 Rally Italia Sardegna bad luck for Ukraine
There is nothing more awful than getting of the race in the very beginning of it. The first really racing section of Rally Italia Sardegna has brought a bad luck for our crews: Valery Gorban and Vasily Gryazin both left the race during the first section even before the service. Sardegna has turned into an unexpected surprise and it was a bad one.

Soon after the beginning, after the SS2 after, Gryazin informed that he had felt ill. Unfortunately its impossible to keep rallying in that case, so our driver had to left the competition. The worst thing is that the young driver couldnt even try to drive a new car in real race.

Teams spectators had put all hopes on Gorban-Korsya crew but they left the race too unbelievable! The reason was different: a narrow turn, a hard contact, a broken arm of suspension. Normally crews have some additional spare part on board therefore they can change something by their own hand. But not in that case that part was really rare to broke, so the crew just didnt have It.

The only bright side of this accident for Gorban and Corsya is the next day we will start under the Ralli2 because the unique roads of Sardegna are really worth driving them. So keep cool and go on.

05-06-2014 Rally Italia Sardegna in Italian style
Rally Italia Sardegna passed first kilometers of Thursda sectiony: the short super-special stage brought exciting atmosphere to the audience. Eurolamp WRT crews, the actual champions of Ukraine Valeriy Gorban and Vladimir Korsya and Russians Vasily Gryazin and Dmitry Eremeyev, also become a part of it.

After recce our crews were impressed by the upcoming rally. "The first part of Friday special stages is very hard, - says Dmitry Eremeyev. - Saturday is quite complicated and interesting at the same time: we pass the 60-kilometer long special stage two times and its a great challenge because we have never had that kind of experience before. So we need to keep the smooth pace there". Gryazin is taking part in Rally Italia Sardegna for the first time thereby he is going to follow reasonable pace.

Vladimir Korsya is on the same page with his teammate: "The road is different there are more sand this year, but in general Sardegna stays the same: narrow, difficult stages with a lot of rocks. And we liked the 60-kilometer long special stage: it is going to be the best part of the rally, fast and hard.

So Friday will bring us new emotions and some of competition moments in WRC 2.

The sixth event of WRC, Rally Italia Sardegna, is going to be held at the first weekend of June. Vasily Gryazin takes part in the special client service program of the Eurolamp WRT: young Russian driver was interested in trying MINI, and with the rens service of Ukjrainian team he has got the opportunity to fulfill his dream. Despite the fact that Gryazin starts out of WRC 2, it is going ti be a great race for all the fans of the Team: two fast crews, even more great moments, even greater intrigue.

The upcoming program of the week-end looks really huge: Recce, tests, shakedown, the race ... Crews are intended to face 19 special stages, 395 kilometers, four days of racing and all the challenges which Italia had prepared for the participants. Special stages have the distance from 3,5 up to 60 km. 06-04-2014 - Vodafone Rally de Portugal - Ukraine in the Top 10 WRC 2 !
One of the most difficult rallies in WRC season, Vodafone Rally de Portugal, is successfully completed: Ukrainian crew Valeriy Gorban and Vladimir Korsya got the 8th line in WRC 2. And that means that the Ukrainians entered the Top 10! It has became possible because of their stability and reliability.

The Sunday section had only three special stages, however, they were tough enough to clarify the results of the whole rally. First, during Friday and Saturday, Gorban - Korsya werent too fast: only the 12th and the 11th positions and some faster stages sometimes. Gorban is always very careful driver he prefers to keep calm pace and avoid additional "baggage" of bad luck and penalties for restarts.

So he has exactly the same plan for Portugal. As we know heavy rains fall down over the region earlier that week, so the road became wet and slippery all over the race there were some mud even on Sunday. So the only correct decision was to avoid risky situations and get the car unbroken.

Friday was not so good for us only the 12th . On Saturday, during the second day, Gorban pushed forward and got the 11th place. But anyway it was out of Top-10, so the question remained opened. Gorban made his tactic perfectly he was fast enough on Sunday, so that he made one more effective effort and reached the 9th line in live timing. It seemed that everything was done and Ukrainian crew had only to finish the race. But at the final SS16 French pilot got the bad luck with his car and left the race, so he suddenly made a "present" for Ukrainians one more position higher for them.

We are happy to inform that this rally was the second successful race in 2014 season. Our MINI JCW RRC with the Ukrainian native ornament on the roof was the only one between all other cars in WRC 2 where most of them are Fords. Eurolamp WRT is going to take part in some European events of WRC 2014 please, check our information later.

05-04-2014 - Vodafone Rally de Portugal push forward
Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya finished the Saturday section of Vodafone Rally de Portugal at the 11th position in WRC 2. Of course this result is not the best goal for Ukrainian rally champion but in this case Ukrainian team has extremely strong challenge in Portugal. For now Gorban and Korsya are out from the main battle for the top of WRC 2 but they are still the best Ukrainian crew for the moment. Is it possible for Ukrainian guys to gain the Top-10 in WRC 2?

Well, if Eurolamp WRT crew goes fast and stable it will be possible. Only with a lot of work and some luck. Saturday was a quite good day for our team: no rain, no bad surprises from a car and from the weather. Just need some more speed for fighting with the best drivers in the world. Valery Gorban has became the best Ukrainian drivers for the Saturday section we had three of them and by the end of the day only two has finished the section.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal is reaching its finish - Sunday is the final day consisting of three short special stages. It is not enough to take a risk or some other tactics, but anyway it will be the next rallying day for Ukrainian crews and drivers will just need to play the final role in this race. Hope it will be lucky for Ukraine!

31-03-2014 - Vodafone Rally de Portugal - the race of great opportunities
Ukrainian rally-drivers go to Portugal - Valery Gorban, Ukrainian rally champion of 2013, is going to take part in Vodafone Rally de Portugal during the next week-end. Gorban and Vladimir Korsya are one of the WRC- 2 crews and Portugal is their second WRC event in 2014.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal - the race of contrasts. According to analysts and drivers themselves its considered as very difficult and tough rally in WRC calendar. This event usually can clarify pace and talents of the crews, quality of the work of technical teams. Portugal roads have not only variety of configurations and changing conditions but also have being changed for each year edition of the rally. For example this year one of the special stages, Santana da Serra, which is held on Saturday, runs in the reverse direction in comparison with the last year and Santa Bras de Alportel is the one really new in the rally program. Meanwhile despite of any changes Vodafone Rally de Portugal remains its character: interesting and fast roads are liked by drivers all around the world.

For Gorban and Corsya Vodafone Rally de Portugal brings new task they need as more scores in WRC-2 as possible. Now Gorban has only the 14th position in WRC-2 classification standings therefore the main goal is to reach the finish and make it as high as we can. Eurolamp WRT crew has one-day tests on Monday. And then - the recce, shakedown, four days of fighting at 16 SS with the 340 km distance and 1404 km of the total distance. Portugal show is ready to start!

08-02-2014 - Rally Sweden - even faster
The final section of Rally Sweden has brought an variety of emotions for Valeriy Goban and Vladimir Korsya. First of all our crew has increased the speed significantly and therefore they were really good during all Saturday. The last day of Rally Sweden became the best page in the Swedish portfolio of Ukrainian team. Gorban and Korsya kept good speed in top-5 WRC- 2 and even got the victory at one of special stages. However, it was Saturday day which brought the biggest disappointment to our driver Gorban has made a mistake at the last SS, got out of the road and lost about 10 minutes. Finally they could reach the finish line with the 7th place in WRC- 2 standings.
"We started the day in a good mood from the very early morning. The most important thing - we were able to go faster tham we did last days and we got several SS in Top-3 of WRC- 2. Usually our crew prefers long "marathon" distance, but this time we felt comfortable at short special stages too so we have spent our rally in effective pace",- said Vladimir Korsya .
Despite of warm weather and ruined snow surface Rally Sweden remained winter race still. And in that situation Gorban and Korsya have found their previous test session very useful. Snow-driving skills of our crew were improved and Ukrainian crew could feel good in Sweden. The team has managed to fulfill the main goal: to finish the rally without restarts and got the position in WRC-2. The team would like to thank all their fans for their support and confirm this season's program for Gorban and Korsya. Eurolamp WRT will take part in six more European-based events of the World Rally Championship.

07-02-2014 Rally Sweden one more step
Friday, the third day of Rally Sweden, has brought tough competition in WRC- 2 all drivers got used to severe road conditions, found their own way of dealing with them, met and solved some technical troubles. Valery Gorban and Vladimir Korsya could reach some bright result in WRC- 2 so Friday section seemed to be for successful for our crew.
The weather in Sweden continues to be unpredictable that makes roads extremely difficult . "Sometimes roads have smow but mostly it is too soft and heavy, - said Valeriy Gorban . It is dangerous to drive there, because a car can slide away from the roand in a blink of an eye. One more difficulty - stones dug from the ground. You can easily hit the wheel with them. Gorban and Korsya have begun Friday with accurate pace but than they improved it - Gorban made the 3rd time at SS11, and even 2nd at SS15.
Valery Gorban is getting ready for the last day of the race. The crew has intentions to keep its position during the last day and to improve situation if possible. They have already reached the 7th line in WRC- 2 and if they hadnt had more than two minutes of penalties in the very beginning of the race they would have reached higher line. So the last day will keep all Ukrainian rally fans concentrated on Eurolamp WRT crew.

06-02-2014 - Rally Sweden - even if there is only a bit of snow...
The second day of Rally Sweden has began for Valery Gorban and Vladimir Corsya with technical troubles and finally ended with the 8th result of WRC-2 standings. It wasnt an easy day for Eurolamp World Rally Team and its fans but Ukrainian crew passed all sharp corners and is still ready to fight with roads of Rally Sweden and all its competitors.
Unfortunately the Thursday section started with technical troubles. Gorban made a mistake Wednesday evening and it caused an broken arm of the front suspension. The crew had to replace it by own hands without help from the technical team because the service park was quite far away from the park ferme Thursday morning. Gorban and Korsya replaced the arm but it took more time our crew had 2 min of penalties and later they met other 10 seconds. It was a bit stressful to keep fighting with such unpleasant surprise and so Gorban and Korsya had only the 8th line in WRC-2 standings.
But fortunately Ukrainian team met the chance to be really fast at some SSs at SS7 Gorban and Korsya got the 5th time and the best result was the SS5 where Gorban had the 2nd result. And what about the weather? "Snow and gravel are switching. We had some stages in Norway today, - said Vladimir Korsya. So the weather there was colder and more snow. We wanted to be even more faster but from the beginning of the race we had troubles with a supercharger, we lost the pressure and the problem was solved only at regrouping section "
The Friday program of Rally Sweden consists of 9 special stages including one more super special stage in Karlstad.

15-11-2013 - Wales Rally of GB just hold on, guys!
Ukrainian crews are running the distance of Wales Rally of GB the Friday section turned into some troubles for Valeriy Gorban and Oleksii Kikireshko. But they could keep their results in the top ten standings of WRC- 2. Valery got the 9th line and Kikireshko - the 8th.
All of participants considered Friday as the most difficult day of rally it had only remote service during this day, so all drivers had to run more than 137 kilometers of rough road without no service help. In this case the car had to be as reliable as the rock. And our MINI did not disappoint our team!
Valeriy Gorban and Andrei Nikolayev faced some worries with shock absorbers during the second section of the day: "We realized we have a troubles and decided to slow down to reach the finish line", - said Korsya. Finally Gorban lost about 11.1 seconds and Kikireshko got the position above his team-mate.
"Yesterday we had a shake-down stage and met some troubles with the car, - said Oleksii Kikireshko. But on Friday it was quite good we didnt loose our pace and keep it till the finish".
But its too early to relax. Are Ukrainian drivers ready to fight for the WRC-2 ranking? Wales Rally of GB will give us an answer soon.

Two Ukrainian crews, Valery Gorban - Vladimir Korsya and Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrei Nikolayev, passed first kilometers of the most difficult race in the World Rally Championship - Wales Rally GB. Our pilots are ready to prove that in their hands British origin MINI are able to show Ukrainian passion for drive!

This is the final event of the WRC 2013 so all crews are interested in good balance of scores: "The race is very difficult and dangerous: incredibly slippery in the woods, t rees and stumps. Therefore, we will go accurate", - said Vladimir Korsya . - "We didn't have enough time for testing so we will use some adjustments during the race. I suppose Friday will be the most difficult section, because tomorrow we are going to be limited with only two services - in the morning and in the evening - thereby almost all special stages are going to pass without technical support. We have to go carefully to keep the car alive".

Meanwhile Ukrainians passed first three special stages in the dark - the Thursday itinerary was late. Both Ukrainian crews are ready to fight in WRC- 2 on Friday: the Wales Rally of BG is about to start!

06-10-2013 Rally de France-Alsace - Mentos Ascania Racing is out
The final day of Rally de France brought new challenge for the crew Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrei Nikolayev Kikireshko was good on Saturday but unfortunately he met the next difficulty on Sunday. He broke the wheel of his MINI at SS17 and thereby he had to leave the race before its end. Rally de France Alsace became the most unpredictable and difficult race in all WRC career. First reason behind our unsuccessful Rally de France is the lack of asphalt rallies in Ukraine. And of course we need more experience of asphalt rallies and find out all theirs special features. Our crews began to fight for the top-5 in WRC- 2 and we could complete the task during the first part of the rally. But unfortunately we met plenty of troubles later. First of all Valeriy Gorban he was the 4th in WRC-2 left the race due to broken radiator and the overheated engine.
Kikireshko tried to hold on through all the difficulties he had a broken wheel, rolled over car and more than 10 minutes of penalty but he still went on. "We made a lot of mistakes really, - said the driver. - MINI is a great car for fast roads, we could and had to be fast there but we were not able to deal with these asphalt roads. You need to know the nuances of Rally of France if you want to win here. Ive done my best, but I dont have enough of experience. At SS17 we hit the root of the tree and broke the wheel. So we had to left the race instead of reaching finish line". .

04-10-2013 Rally de France-Alsace - Mentos Ascania Racing keeps trying
Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrey Nikolaev became the only one Ukrainian crew at Saturday section of Rally de France Alsace. Despite the changeable weather Kikireshko could complete the day with good results he had SSs times up to top-5 in WRC-2. Of course, two retirements during the previous sections took away all his chances but the crew decided to complete the race doing their best.
Valery Gorban and Vladimir Corsya was out shortly after Fridays service due to troubles with the engine of their MINI, and after their retirement Kikireshko became only the one crew of Mentos Ascania Racing ready to continue the rally. They had an extremely unstable weather during the day: foggy, rainy and then sunny hour one by one. Oleksii Kikireshko managed to keep the pace and successfully reached the finish line. 04-10-2013 Rally de France-Alsace - Mentos Ascania Racing has two outs
Friday section of Rally de France Alsace became less successful for Mentos Ascania Racing than yesterday. This time two crews could not complete the day without critical mistakes - Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya was the 4th in WRC-2 during the day but they broke the radiator of their MINI at SS6 and Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrei Nikolayev left the race at the same SS with the crash of their MINI. Formally Kikireshko left the battle from the 9th position only they couldnt go further because of the 10 minutes penalty from the previous section. And Gorban was the 4th in WRC-2 before his pity incident.
Friday's section of the Rally de France Alsace had two laps with three special stages in each of them. Kikireshkos results were good if he had not got his penalty, he could claim for a place in the top-5 of WRC-2 ranking. Unfortunately he lost his chance at SS6: It was an unexpected crush, - said Oleksii. We just lost the control and our car rolled over. The reason behind this is our poor skills of asphalt driving. We need more practice of such kind of races .
Saturday's section will be tough too - seven special stages have different lengths (from 4.65 to 28.48 km).

03-10-2013 Rally de France-Alsace - Mentos Ascania Racing faces the trouble
The eleventh stage of the World Rally Championship, Rally de France Alsace is already started for two Ukrainian crews. Valeriy Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya and Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrii Nikolayev are taking part in this race with Mentos Ascania Racing teams colors. The first day consisted of just one super-special stage but despite this Ukrainian team had faced some lucky and some unpleasant events as well. Valeriy Gorban finished the day with the fourth time in the WRC- 2 (10 s gap from Robert Kubica, the leader of the class). "We had a shakedown earlier today, - said Volodymyr Korsya. Actually we were satisfied with our car and the tyres choice we had chosen hard tyres. Our main goal for this rally is clear we have to reach the finish line with the undamaged car. After Rally de France we are going to face a new challenge in Ukraine, where we are having an important battle for the champion title in our native championship".
Oleksii Kikireshko had an unfortunate setback he made a mistake, kicked the fence made of stone and broke the suspension of his car. The crew is going to start on Friday under the Rally2 regulations with 10-minutes of penalty. However Kikireshko is going to resume his race on Friday it was just a beginning today.

30-09-2013 Rally de France-Alsace - a challenge for Mentos Ascania Racing
There are only three rallies left in the World Rally Championship 2013 schedule, and Rally de France-Alsace is one of them. Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing is ready to start this rally with two crews: Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrii Nikolayev and Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsya is going to fight in WRC- 2 with two equal MINI JCW RRC.
The asphalt surface of the roads is the main difficulty of this rally. The route has a plenty of variable roads narrow, wide, fast, forest roads with jumps. Some of the special stages are going to be similar to those of ADAC Rallye Deutschland, going through the vineyards. Our team started this WRC-2 season with MINI JCW RRC, and it is important for us to get the experience of fast on those fast asphalt superstages. Unfortunately, we couldnt do this during Ukrainian championship because of the lack of tarmac rallies in it.
"This is some kind of new experience for our team, - said Oleksii Kikireshko, - because we use the new cars on the WRC asphalt rally for the first time. We had Yalta Rally several weeks ago but its surface is far from the Rally de France in terms of the quality. Thats why we used gravel suspension settings for Yalta Rally and in France we will have other adjustments. It could be raining in Alsace this week-end and thereby it will quite difficult for us to get the new experience of fast and safe driving on the new type of roads.
The race starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday - 20 special stages consist of 312.4 kilometers.

04-08-2013 Mentos Ascania Racing got the penalty at Neste Oil Rally Finland
According to official information and total results of Neste Oil Rally Finland Ukrainian crew Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsia, one of Mentos Ascania Racings crews, has got the penalization for the late entry at one of time control points. The penalization brought additional 1 min 50 s to the total time of the crew, thereby Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrii Nikolaev has became the 8th in WRC-2 and Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsia has moved to the 9th line.
We had unexpected problems with the electronic system of our MINI JCW RRC, - said Gorban. So we couldnt start the engine of the car until we have changed the control unit and we have have lost too much of time in that way.

03-08-2013 Mentos Ascania Racing successful finish at Neste Oil Rally Finland
One of the most challenging rally in the world, Neste Oil Rally Finland, is over Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing has finished this fastest race with two crews. Valery Gorban and Volodymyr Korsia reached the 7th line in WRC-2 ans Oleksii Kikireshko and Andrii Nikolaev kept the 9th.This is the very important achievement for our team and good experience for future development.
It was one of the most difficult rallies in this season for our team. First of all we have our new cars for Rally Finland (it is our first season with MINI JCW RRC) and that was the main reason behind the reasonable strategy for this race. Team decided to push gradually but only after adaptation to these roads. The hardest day for Ukrainian drivers was Thursday some rain made the road slippery and thereby we had only the 11th and 13th results for that day.
Friday became more fast and stable for our team step by step and stage by stage Gorban and Kikireshko improved their results. Finally they have reached positions in Top-10 of WRC-2 by the end of the day: the 8th for Gorban and the 9th for Kikireshko. There were small competition in the team itself between Gorban and Kikireshko Oleksii was a little bit faster on some stages but it couldnt change the whole results of the crew.
It is not easy to fight with fast native drivers on their own field but Ukrainian team did its best on Saturday. The last section of Neste Oil Rally Finland became the most important for our team: Valeriy Gorban and Oleksii Kikireshko could keep the day with stable pace. Fast enough to raise their positions and safe to finish this exceptional rally without critical problems. 02-06-2013 Acropolis Rally is over. Mentos Ascania Racing got first scores in WRC-2
Mentos Ascania Racing reached the finish line of Acropolis Rally Valery Gorban- Volodymyr Korsia and Oleksii Kikireshko- Sergei Larens successfully finished the Sunday section of the race. Gorban reached the 8th line in WRC-2 ranking and Kikireshko became the 9th. That is not the best result for our team but we could complete this tough race with first scores in the WRC-2 ranking.
Both of our crews got the stable race on the Sunday section: after all technical troubles he had during two previous days Gorban finally found his optimal pace: Actually we were trying to keep the safe and high speed from the very beginning of the rally, - said Gorban. And we are not satisfied with our result. Of course we wanted more, but the circumstances of the rally were too tough. On Sunday Gorban got the 3rd time on the last stage of Acropolis Rally, but in general he couldnt overcome the total pressure of the time penalty. So only the 8th result.
Oleksii Kikireshko got the tire puncture today: You should care about tires and suspension at the every moment of this race, - said Sergei Larens, the Kikireshkos co-driver. Oleksii could reach the higher position, but technical problems didn't alow him that. At least our team could complete the race with scores in Top-10. This will help Ukrainian team to keep the battle for the rest part of the season.

01-06-2013 Acropolis Rally brought first troubles for Mentos Ascania Racing
Both crews of Mentos Ascania Racing couldnt pass the Saturday section of Acropolis Rally Valery Gorban- Volodymyr Korsia and Oleksii Kikireshko- Sergei Larens left the race at SS7. Gorbav was out on the first split of SS7 and Kikireshko lost his chances on the last one. This is the most unlucky SS for our team!
Gorban lost his ambitions at the very start of the Saturday section: We broke the suspension on the SS4, - said Gorbans co-driver, Volodymyr Korsia. Than we lost plenty of precious time with the broken differential. Our technical team could repair the car during the service time, but we faced the same problems in the start of the SS7 suspension was broken one more time. It was the shock absorber. Why did it happen? Because of road, I think.
Kikireshko had the same problem with the shock absorber he spent Saturday section in top-5 of WRC-2 but couldnt complete this section. On Sunday our team is going to start under the Rally2 regulations.

Gorban took the 4th place in WRC-2, and Kikireshko became the 6th in WRC-2. Stability and safe pace are the most important things in Greece.
At SS1, the longest 48 km SS of the Acropolis Rally, Kikireshko was quite fast he got the 0,6 s priority of the Gorban and it was the 3rd result in WRC-2. Ukrainian drivers Kikireshko and Gorban spent the SS2 under the tough pressure of theirs competitors. It was not time and place for the battle, so our drivers choose the safe pace. You can be driven by emotions here, - said Gorban. You could reach the finish line only if you drive this race with cool head. As for me the road became more rocky and hard even then the last year.
The Saturday section will be long (approximately 150 km) but doesnt consist of extremely long SSs Friday started from the longest SS of the total race! On Saturday crews are going to pass eight SSs the average length of each of them is almost 20 km.

13-11-2011 - Mentos Ascania Racing at Wales Rally GB it was so difficult!
Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing finally reached the finish in Wales Rally GB. For the first time in this season the race became so difficult for Ukrainian crews. Several times we had to go off and were back (under SupeRally regulations). But after all problems and mistakes all three crews went to the official finish ceremony of Wales Rally GB. Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens reached the 7th position, Aleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin were the 9th and Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev finished the day with the 10th result in P-WRC.
Aleksandr Saliuk was the most probably pretender for high results today. And he really was very fast on Sundays SSs he got the 3rd, the 5th and even the 2nd position. But in the middle of the day he met one pity problem. We had a rear right puncture on SS19, - said Aleksandr Saluik. We didnt change it and lost about two minutes by driving on it. O therwise it was ok.
Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev were the 10th in P-WRC ranking today. This wasnt a quite high result for Valery Gorban the crew was faster and more stable in previous rallies. And they were good today too. But Saturdays section of the race brought too much penalty to our crew. So pilots had to be satisfied with this position: Today the race was OK, - said Valery Gorban. We enjoyed stages. This rally was very difficult for us so we are happy to reach the finish line today. Unfortunately we had to retire yesterday but that could happen in rally.
And Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens were real heroes of Sundays section: they become the most stable Ukrainian crew because of careful and concentrated driving: It was terrible to see my friends, Gorban and Saliuk staying out of the SS, - said Aleksey Kikireshko. I felt very bad yesterday because of theirs failures. But today the race was ok for all of us and I got a good experience of driving in so tricky conditions.
This season generally and Wales Rally GB particulary became some kind of new experience in P-WRC for Mentos Ascania Racing. We set a goal to reach the finish line of every rally we took place. And now we are happy to manage it.

Saturday section of Wales Rally GB became a tough challenge for Mentos Ascania Racing - two of three crews were out of the competition today again! It was real failure for our crews: Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev left the race because of broken wheel and Aleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin lost the road because of technical troubles. The real hero of this day was Aleksey Kikireshko - with his co-driver Sergey Larens he could complete this day with the 9th result in P-WRC.
Saliuk and Cherepin were fast and stable today - they could keep the pace of other strong P-WRC drivers, but unfortunately they met some problems with the engine of their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. The engine lost a power during the SS and the car was out of the right track in one curve - so the race was over for today. But tomorrow Saliuk is going to continue the rally under SupeRally regulations.
Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev were unlucky too - they met a big stone in one watersplash. So the wheel was broken and the car couldn't reach the finish today.
Aleksey Kikiresko and Sergey Larens were the most stable crew of Ukrainian team. They kept the stable pace and finally got the 9th position today. Tomorrow all Mentos Ascania Racing crews are going to take part in Wales Rally GB - the race is very tough, but we will fight till it's end!

Saliuk and Cherepin made several very good results today but they couldn't escape some technical problems with brace system. And in the end of the day the crew made a pity mistake and lost the control about the car - they went out from the slippery road and crushed the Mitsubishi.
Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev almost lost their chance to get the place in the top-five of P-WRC ranking. After today's out they got 25 min of penalty and that's mean they couldn't pretend for the top-five ranking in P-WRC this year.

Ukrainian crews Valery Gorban Andrey Nikolaev, Aleksandr Saliuk Pavel Cherepin and Aleksey Kikireshko Sergey Larens have to prove theirs ambitious plans for the P-WRC ranking. This is the last chance for Ukrainian team to win scores and got the place in the top-five of P-WRC.
Mentos Ascania Racing has already spend five P-WRC events and there were victories and losses, disappointments and hopes during this season. But now Mentos Ascania Racing has strong position in the P-WRC ranking for the newcomer team. Valery Gorban lost his bronze place after Rally de Espana and moved on the 6th position. Aleksandr Saliuk had very unstable season this year with crashes and technical problems, but he was brilliant in Australia and Spain, so he got the 7th place in P-WRC. Both of them, Gorban and Saliuk are not far from the top-five now. Unfortunately Aleksey Kikireshko was not so successful and got only the 18th place in P-WRC. But all Ukrainian crews have the same goal: they are ready to keep good pace and win maximum scores during Wales Rally GB.

We are ready to meet not only the gravel but the mud also, - says Aleksandr Saliuk. - Its our first start in Wales Rally GB so I cant say how we could manage this task for sure. But I hope our cars are good for gravel roads so Im going to drive as fast as I could and keep good pace till the finish line.

Fridays stages are going to be held in the forests, although Saturdays stages are unchanged from 2010, on Sunday the rally will generally run in a reverse direction, featuring a combination of asphalt and gravel. 23-10-2011 Mentos Ascania Racing reached the finish line of Rally de Espana
World Rally Championship in production category is almost over for Mentos Ascania Racing Ukrainian rally team spent the lst but one event, Rally de Espana and got good results. Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens won the 9th place, Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev were the 7th and Aleksandr Saliuk with Pavel Cherepin got high 5th position in P-WRC this time.
Spanish roads were very specific and depended on weather conditions it was difficult to choose the right type of tires for it. The soft compound wasnt strong enough to go through all the distance, and hard compound was not good on slippery asphalt during the rain.
Alexandr Saliuk became a real hero of Sunday section he had some problems with the gearbox of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX yesterday and he had some trouble with its engine today too. But soon he manage to fix it and spent the rest of the day with very good pace. Actually it was my plane to go through the race without any serious technical problems, - said Alexandr Saliuk . It was very difficult to keep the car stable during the second section the road was wet and we have chosen wrong tires. We did not have proper compound but finally we reached the finish. I think we were very lucky!.
For Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev Sunday section was very tough they were under pressure of Alexandr Saliuk ans Nikolas Fusch both. It was very hard day, - told Valery Gorban. The road had the mixed surface, weve chosen wrong tires compound, I damaged my leg and felt the pain during the day We could hardly manage this section well! As for me I decided to spend more time on the asphalt rallies and get more skills of this type of roads.
Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens struggled with theirs Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX: it had problems with electronic system and thereby the car wasnt as good as it could be. The most important goal for our crew was to reach the finish line , - said Sergey Larens . We had very nervous rally, the car didnt work well, nevertheless we had fun and more information from this event.
The total P-WRC ranking was changed after Rally de Espana Valery Gorban lost his bronze priority and went down at the 6th place. Alexandr Saliuk on the contrary got more scores after Rally de Espana and became the 7th. But the most important rally of the season is going to be held in November, in Great Britain. The second day of Rally de Espana brought good news for Mentos Ascania Racing team: after unsuccessful Friday when all three crews went out of the race they finally reached the sections finish today. Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens became the 9th, Aleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin got the 6th place and Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev won the best Ukrainian result and became the 5th in P-WRC.
Saturdays section had an asphalt surface thereby crews didnt have typical gravel problems such as stones or dust today. Despite of big Fridays penalty Aleksandr Saliuk showed very fast race: he was the 4th three times, twice the 5th and only once Saliuk got the 6th result. This time his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX was reliable and Saliuk spent all the day with a good pace. After all Saturdays SS Saliuk became the 6th in P-WRC, only in 48 sec behind Valery Gorban. The longest 46 km SS was tough and interesting, - said Aleksandr Saliuk . I didn't feel big problems with it. But unfortunately our gearbox was broken during the second section today. Hope it will bw ok after service for tomorrow.
Valery Gorban himself became a team-leader of the Ukrainian team. He was not as fast as his team colleague Saliuk, but very stable. He looked about effective finish and did his task very well. Finally Gorban became the 5th in todays ranking.
Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens were authors of the little sensation they started this day with the 5th time on SS7. They were in more than a half minute ahead of the Valery Gorban! Unfortunately they couldnt keep this result through the day: Kikireshko was on the 10th 11th positions and finished the day with the 9th result. (I cannot reveal the secret of my fast SS7 for sure, - told Aleksey Kikireshko. - I was trying to do my best but I hadnt any ambition goal to fight with Gorban or others. I just was driving in comfort style and hoping to see finish line. I liked the road very much very good asphalt, easy ti drive on it. Hope I will be on finish line tomorrow.
The last day is going to be very important for Mentos Ascania Racing team. Ukrainian crews are going to fight for best positions tomorrow and going to keep them till the end of the rally.

21-10-2011 Rally de Espana Mentos Ascania Racing is facing troubles
Friday section of Rally de Espana brought very tough day for Mentos Ascania Racing team. No one crew reached the finish without serious technical problems: Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens, Aleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin and Valery Gorban and Andrey Nikolaev had to leave the race after the problems with steering system and rear suspension. They got penalty minutes and all three Mentos Ascania Racing crews will restart under SupeRally regulations on day two.
Friday section consisted of six SSs with mostly gravel surface. All the troubles were related with specificity of gravel race: rocks, dust and other typical gravel things. Despite of this Aleksandr Saliuk was very fast in the first day: he was the 3rd on SS1, the 4th on SS2 But on SS5 the rally was over for our pilot he broke a steering system of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. This problem starts on SS1, - said Aleksandr Saliuk . We hit a big stone and one wheel was damaged. We tried to get to the service park but couldnt do it. In the first part of the rally it was very pleasant to feel our good results. I didnt mind to be as fast as I can but I think it was all about my previous P-WRC rallies. I became more skilled.
Valery Gorban faced the strong character of Rally de Espana. On SS3 we broke the wheel, rim, and then the tyre broke the bumper and a part of the car body. I drove our car during 12 km with this problems, said Valery Gorban . We decided not to stop for the wheel changing and continued the race. During the 1st section of the Friday Valery Gorban hold the 6th place in P-WRC. After the service Ukrainian crew got the same position, but on SS5 our guys met one more stone and it was the last for today. Valery was out and now the team is getting ready for the next day. Besides these repairs mechanics had to change the suspension for asphalt.
Aleksey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens finished this day with the pity accident. On SS1 we had problems with the differential in our Mitsubishi and were driving in the dust it was terrible. But for now I need to feel comfortable after pity Australia accident. I cant imagine how that stones appeared on the road! It was an asphalt road and it was very strange to hit the stone on it, - told Aleksey Kikireshko.
Tomorrow all three Mentos Ascania Racing crews will restart under SupeRally regulations and we wish all the best for them.

It is very important to work on driving skills and to understand the cars behavior. But the most significant challenge for me is to overcome the circumstances and get good results in this race.
Ukrainian drivers are not scared of the changing road surface. It doesnt matter what kind of road you have, - says Aleksandr Saliuk. - In rally championship you should be able to manage any type of roads. And besides this we have asphalt rallies in Ukrainian championship so we know a bit more about such roads and are ready.
This rally also adds to the workload placed on the mechanics and engineers, who have to convert their cars from gravel to asphalt specification in a restricted timeframe. Mentos Ascania Racing is planning to take part in the official tests they start on Monday.
Our team have same goals for Rally de Espana as for the rest of the P-WRC season. We need to finish all the rallies we participate in, - tells Valery Gorban. I have a new co-driver, Andrey Nikolaev, and this rally is going to be only the second event for us. The first was Rally Australia. Thereby we have plenty of work to do in the crew and we need to fight for our position.

10-09-2011 Mentos Ascania Racing first Australian day without the rain
Rally Australia became more comfortable for its participants today - the weather changed and after the rainy Friday the Saturday stayed dry. Mentos Ascania Racing passed the day with one pity accident Aleksey Kikireshko crashed on SS12, and with two significant achievements. Aleksandr Saliuk kept his 3rd position till today and Valery Gorban even improved his yesterday's result - he finished Sturday on the 5th line of the P-WRC ranking.
Aleksey Kikireshko started the Saturday with confidence but unfortunately he stopped the race in the beginning of the day on the SS12 his car was crashed. "The race was good, - said Sergey Larens, Kikireshkos co-driver. We manmaged be fast on SS11 and this was our true pace for this rally. What about that accident It was very pity. The speed was too fast and the bridge was too narrow. Thereby we couldnt catch the road correctly and hit the car. Kikireshko can't complete the race tomorrow because of serious damage of the car.
Valery Gorban and his co-driver Andrey Nikolaev became very stable today Gorban got good results during all the day and finally got up to the 5th place! Thereby two Ukrainian crews are in Top-five of Rally Australia P-WRC now.

"We are going to keep our places tomorrow, - said Aleksandr Saliuk . I dont want anybody to think I got my position in this table occasionally. So Im going to be fast and accurate both for the rest ten superstages.
Mentos Ascania Racing is going to prove its priority tomorrow. For Aleksandr Saliuk and Valery Gorban it will be quite critical task and we wish all the drivers all the best.

09-09-2011 Mentos Ascania Racing at Rally Australia very dirty day
Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing got very different emotions on Friday the rain brought a lot of slippery mud to the road, Aleksey Kikireshko left the race after his car was broken in the rifting, Aleksandr Saliuk became the 3rd and Valery Gorban the 9th in P-WRC. Thereby this day was quite tough for Ukrainian drivers. The weather was terrible and the road become the same the rally turned into the mud-racing in certain parts of the distance. Mechanics could hardly remove all the mud from the cars during the service time. "Its ok, - said Aleksey Kikireshko about road conditions. I think we have to manage with different roads. But when you should to leave the race for the unexpected reasons its pity ". Fortunately Kikireshko could continue the rally by the SupeRally scheme.
Valery Gorban made the successful day today he set the 6th line in PWRC. But Aleksand Saliuk played the most important role for his team this time he was very fast from the beginning of the rally and finished this day with the 3rd result in the P-WRC and took 9-th line in "p 10" Rally Australia. "I dont feel any pressure at all, - said Aleksandr Saliuk . I just kept my usual style of driving and thereby we got our high result. I hope tomorrow morning we will start the other day wuth the same good speed and finish the rally with the same good place". Its very important goal for Ukrainian top-driver because of his unlucky accident in Finland last time. So we wish Mentos Ascania Racing and all the participants all the best for tomorrow.

30-07-11 Mentos Ascania Racing reached the finish line in Finland
Neste Oil Rally Finland is over successfully two Ukrainian crews from Mentos Ascania Racing reached the finish line. Valeriy Gorban and Vadim Chernega rose up to the 7th place, Alexey Kikireshko and Sergey Larens got the 8th line and won theirs first scores in PWRC ranking.
This day section included 140 km of SS and it was the longest section of the rally. But for Ukrainian rally team Saturday race was not so dramatic as yesterday one. Two Mentos Ascania Racing crews reached the finish without technical problems. But lot of PWRC drivers left the race during today section: only 9 from 16 crews reached the finish. Mentos Ascania Racing couldnt make a strong competition to fastest European drivers at Neste Oil Rally Finland. But this rally with its fastest 314 rally kilometers in the world brought the incredible experience for Ukrainian pilots.
The biggest problem for us was the very specific manner of pace notes writing and analyzing, - said Vadim Chernega . Here you should write down the turns and any meter of the distance very carefully and drive it with high accuracy. When the speed is so high, you should care about all details. And that was difficult for us, so we lost lot of time today.
Unfortunately I left the race because of crush, - said Aleksandr Saliuk . Thats why it is difficult for me to say whether this road too fast for us or not. I can say only one thing: If I just could to start this race one more I did it immediately and got the finish. We are glad to inform that Pavel Cherepin left the hospital and spent this day with the team.

Despite of the dramatic beginning Fridays section brought good result for Mentos Ascania Racing in PWRC ranking: Valery Gorban Vadim Chernega got the 10th place and that was the best result among Ukrainian drivers, Aleksey Kikireshko Sergey Larens became the 12th. They are going to fight through tomorrow section till the finish line. But today Ukrainian crews faced several difficulties of Neste Oil Rally Finland adaptation to the tight race schedule without an additional service brake and to the specific configuration of the SSs . The road surface is very hard and it hits the wheels sometime, - said Aleksandr Ptashnik, chief mechanic. But we hadnt have big problems so we could trust our cars today and hope to do the same tomorrow
The rally road itself became the most serious competitor for our crews: with its high speed and incredible jumps. I can hardly imagine how fast the car could be here, - said Kikireshko. But we are a new crew and this is my first PWRC race with Sergey Larens. So we are just longing to reach the finish and to learn more a bout this fantastic road.

Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing is going to take part in famous Neste Oil Rally Finland (28-30.07.2011). Three crews are going to start in Finland soon: Valeriy Gorban Vadim Chernega, Aleksandr Saliuk Pavel Cherepin and Aleksey Kikireshko Sergey Larens. All of them use Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
These cars were built by teams mechanics and engineers. The tight timing of the PWRC program brought a new challenge for Mentos Ascania Racing. Ukrainian rally team built tree Mitsubishi Lancers Evo IX for Australian PWRC event (and sent them to the destination by the sea transport) and the other three absolutely new cars were prepared for Neste Oil Rally Finland.
Neste Oil Rally Finland is going to be the third PWRC rally for Mentos Ascania Racing in this season. Ukrainian crews took part in two rallies, and now the best result belongs to Valeriy Gorban: he takes the 5th place in PWRC total ranking.
I think it is hardly to compare Finland to any Karelian or Baltics races, - said Gorban. We used to take part in such rallies, they have a bit similar sharp curves with jumps, but Neste Oil Rally Finland is going to be a new challenge and a very important experience for our team.
For Aleksandr Saliuk this rally will be the first PWRC race after the health problems: he broken his shoulder soon after Rally Portugal. But now Ukrainian rally Champion is k: It took a lot of time for my rehabilitation, - said Saluik. Unfortunately I could take a part only in one Ukrainian rally before Neste Oil Rally Finland. I wish I could drive the sport car in more rallies or tests. But the most important thing is my good physical condition before this important and very difficult race.
Neste Oil Rally Finland is going to be a meeting point for the fastest PWRC drivers. It starts at Thursday and ends at Saturday the total distance of the rally is 1355, 21 km and 314,39 km are arranged for SS. 27.03.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing successfully finished Rally de Portugal
The last day of Rally de Portugal has shorter distance than previous days - just four SS and 105 km. But they did decide the final results of this stage of the P-WRC championship. Mentos Ascania Racing crew, Valeriy Gorban - Sergey Larens became the best of Ukrainian crews, they got the 5th position. Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin had technical problems yesterday and despite this fact they could finish the race at the 6th place, even with a penalty. Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega reached the finish of this incredible difficult race at the 11th position.
Oleksandr Saliuk stopped the race on Saturday and on Sunday Valeriy Gorban became "responsible" for the best team result. The 1st Sunday SS was not very successful - Gorban and Larens became only the 12th. It was quite dangerous: the nearest pursuer of Gorban was Nikolas Fuchs - the fast driver from Peru. Trough the battle between Ukraine and Peru didn't take place: Fuchs stopped the race at SS14. So Gorban could enjoy his 5th place! Soon Valeriy Gorban even moved to the 4th position, but he couldn't keep this high result till the finish - at the last SS Valeriy lost four seconds and got the 5th place again.
Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin started the day in good pace and won two SS on Sunday! Unfortunately he got the 10 min penalty on Saturday and Oleksandr Saliuk got just the 6th place. Rally de Portugal was quite unstable for the Ukrainian champion, but he demonstrated the good potential and turned Mentos Ascania Racing to the possible competitor for the top-five of the P-WRC.
Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega reached the finish at the 11th position. "It was incredible, - says Aleksey . - The race was very interesting and difficult, but I learned much from it".
Mentos Ascania Racing had good result in Rally de Portugal and completed the team's program - to get into the top-five. Now Valeriy Gorban takes the 3rd position in the total ranking of the P-WRC 2011 with 22 points

26.03.11 - Rally de Portugal makes hard time for Mentos Ascania Racing
Saturday stage of Rally de Portugal seemed to be less hospitable for Mentos Ascania Racing than Friday was. Valeriy Gorban and Sergey Larens got the best result - they took the 5th line in today's P-WRC report. Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega improved their result and moved to the 13th place. Unfortunately Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin left the race because of the broken suspension and had to use SupeRally for tomorrow. It's very pity for the team - they started the day with the high 3rd result!
Rainy Saturday made the road very slippery and more dangerous. But the very beginning of the day brought the present for Ukrainian rally fans - Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin took the 3rd position! It was impossible to come close to Hayden Paddon and Anders Grondal - the leaders were very fast. Saliuk managed to be 15,3 sec ahead Richardo Moura. He kept his position till SS10 - unfortunately Saluik had a problem with transmission of his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Thereby the driver lost his priority and moved to the 5th place.
It was jus a beginning of real troubles - the crew stopped on SS12 because of the broken suspension and is going to start tomorrow under SupeRally rules.
Valetiy Gorban and Sergey Larens seemed to choose the best Portuguese tactics - the crew was quite stable during the first Saturday section and could avoid unpleasant accident. Only one SS was difficult for our crew: Gorban made a mistake at the first Saturday SS, but the crew could manage it and continued the race. Gorban had a competition with the Russian driver Dmitry Tagirov and could improve his yesterday result up to the 8th place (he was the 9th on Friday). At the second section Tagirov was faster than Gorban, but Ukrainian driver had a priority - time which was reserved during Friday's race. So Valeriy got to the finish the 5th. He became the fastest Ukrainian driver at Saturday section.
Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega had a very ragged race today - they had some repair during the service and could take only the 13th position.
Saturday was very hard day for all P-WRC participants: Anders Grondal had a crash, Richardo Moura has an engine problem. So they stopped the race and the tot-thee positions were taken by Hayden Paddon, Benito Guerra (+6:35,8), Jukka Ketomaki (+9:23,5).

25.03.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing - doing our best
Mentos Ascania Racing started Friday stage of Rally de Portugal at the optimistic note: Ukrainian drivers got quite stable results from the beginning and kept good pace till the end of the day. Three Mentos Ascania Racing crews fulfilled the team's program - they passed the whole distance and reached finish line without crashes and troubles.
The stage started with the fair stewards' decision: yesterday Oleksandr Saluik and Pavel Cherepin got wrong result with an "additional" minute. Finally Friday morning rally fans could see the correct score - the "additional" time was cancelled and Saliuk moved to the 9th line in P-WRC. During first Friday section Saliuk improved his position and was the 3rd at the SS4 ( in 0,3 sec ahead Richardo ur and in 22,5 sec behind Hayden Paddon). Thereby our driver could show his competitiveness, but stayed very concentrated and careful - he became 4th after the first section and kept this position till the finish. It's quite a high result for Ukrainian driver because of the tough competition at Rally de Portugal.
Valeriy Gorban and Sergey Larens kept calm and self-restrained tactics: the crew spent first section in the top-ten in P-WRC. Gorban made his driving style progressive and took 9th line before the first service brake. Than he moved forward for several positions till the second section: Gorban was 7th at SS6, and it was his best Friday result. Finally he reached the finish and became 9th.
The last Mentos Ascania Racing crew, Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega, overcame this day at 15-17th lines of the table. "The roads have varied configuration, - said Vadim Chernega, - and it is quite difficult to take record during the recce. Thereby we keep not so fast pace as it could be. We have to get to the finish!".
Today Hayden Paddon became the fastest driver in the total ranking of P-WRC, Anders Grondal finished the day at the 2nd place, Richardo ur got to the finish at 3rd line. One of the P-WRC top-drivers, Patrik Flodin, crashed at the beginning of the day, he could continue the race but couldn't take place in the leaders' competition. All Mentos Ascania Racing cars came through Friday challenge without technical problems. Ukrainian crews are ready to face the next task of Rally de Portugal - 148 km of the SS distance.

24.03.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing - first surprises
The first official racing day of the 2nd P-WRC stage, Rally de Portugal, ended in favor of spectators: thousands of rally-fans came to Lisbon to see sport cars racing by the capital streets at the SSS. All three crews of Mentos Ascania Racing finished today.
This season event has quite long distances between SS's - is takes almost 300 km to get from Faro, the place of the shakedown, to Lisbon with SSS. Today Mentos Ascania Racing crews started their journey early morning and had the photo session with all participants of the race before the official start of the rally.
Usually the SSS results are not important for the total race ranking - the SS distance of Rally de Portugal is very long and consists of three days, and Lisbon SSS is only about 3 km. Unfortunately Mentos Ascania Racing faced an unpleasant situation: Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin finished this day: on the last position in the P-WRC ranking (4:09.0)! The crew themselves said it was an on-line results mistake. So Ukrainian driver didn't care too much about its Thursday position and completely concentrated at the major part of the rally.
Valeriy Gorban and Sergey Larens got the 12th position in P-WRC (3:16,3). Aleksey Kikireshko -Vadim Cehrnega got the 14th line. There were no surprises in the leaders group's results: Anders Grondal became the best (3:02,8), Nikolas Fuchs got the second line (3:03,6), and Patrik Flodin came third with 3:05,7.
Rally de Portugal will bring hard time for Ukrainian drivers on Friday! "We are ready to make regular changes of the suspension's and protection's parts, - says the Mentos Ascania Racing chief mechanic Aleksandr Ptashnik . - It's all because of the very abrasive road surface and sharp stones". On Friday Ukrainian crews are going to pass 132 km of SS and 514 km of total distance.

Before first official results brought optimistic feeling for Ukrainian rally-fans, our team passed technical inspection and recce. All three Mentos Ascania Racing Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX passed successfully. And after Wednesday shakedown our crews made their first impressions about Rally Vodafone de Portugal - here Ukrainian team met very hard abrasive roads with sharp rocks, narrows parts, dangerous turns. This year total distance of Rally Vodafone de Portugal is 310 km, average SS length is about 20 km and the longest one, Santa da Serra, lasts 31 km. This race makes a very tough challenge for Mentos Ascania Racing - this is first gravel event in this season and we have to be as fastest and concentrated as possible from the start till the end.

20.03.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing on Rally de Portugal
24-27 march 2011 Mentos Ascania Racing is starting new experience - three crews are going to take a part in the 2nd stage of P-WRC 2011, Vodafon Rally de Portugal. For our team Portugal race is the first gravel rally in this year season.
Just a week before the rally Mentos Ascania Racing find out bad news. Evgeniy Leonov skips Rally de Portugal because of health reasons - Sergey Larens will be the co-driver of Valeriy Gorban. "We very appreciate Sergey's professional skills, - says Gorban. - And thereby we proposed him to be a co-driver at this race. We wish Evgeniy Leonov all the very best and are waiting for his return". Two other crews - Oleksandr Saliuk-Pavel Cherepin and Aleksey Kikireshko-Vadim Chernega - are looking forward Vodafon Rally de Portugal without any changes.
This year's event will include an all-new superspecial stage in the country's capital, Lisbon. Besides pre-event shakedown moving forward to Wednesday - thereby rally's schedule going to be long and eventful.
Major battle is planned for three days - from Friday till Sunday. Portugal's stages, which include a mixture of open roads and technical and narrow sections, has abrasive surface. This puts the onus on tyre wear although the earlier March date (Vodafone Rally de Portugal ran in late May in 2010) means this might not be as apparent as in recent years.
Mentos Ascania Racing has the same goal for Vodafon Rally de Portugal as for previous Rally Sweden - we are going to do our best, came through all four days without technical problems, reach the finish and gain more experience of world rallying.

13.02.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing finished Rally Sweden
Two crews of the Mentos Ascania Racing finished Rally Sweden - Valeriy Gorban and Evgeniy Leonov had the 4th result, Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin won four stages on Sunday and showed stable and self-reliant drive, but despite of this success they could reach only the 7th place in P-WRC ranking. Unfortunately, Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega lost their chance to finish the race - snow traps were big problems of the crew.
Till Saturday fans of Oleksandr Saliuk had one question: "What's going on with Saliuk?". He was very unstable and not as fast as he used to be. Saliuk even said he could win a special prize in this race - "Golden shovel", because he spent too much time with it till the day releasing his car. And on Sunday he finally became much faster and won four SS. Mentos Ascania Racing crew found attention of the spectators and fans and appreciation of the colleagues. But it could not give them the additional time:
Oleksandr Saliuk called Sweden very difficult for his crew - before the start our guys were talking about only one goal: to reach the finish. But as fast driver as Oleksandr Saliuk is was longing to find "middle way" between extremely fast speed and stability. Oleksandr Saliuk and Pavel Cherepin finished on the 7th position of the P-WRC ranking. That was not the dream of the fourfold champion of Ukraine, but Sunday part of the rally confirmed that Saliuk was going to find his "middle way".
The crew of Valeriy Gorban and Evgeniy Leonov was the example of stable and self-controlled drive on Saturday. Nicolas Fuchs was his nearest competitor yesterday and Valeriy won only 1,7 sec on the SSS! But today the crew made a mistake which became a critical for the race result. Thereby Gorban lost the chance to change the balance of the duel on his behalf. Gorban and Leonov were faster than Protasov at the SS19, they were 3rd at the SS21, and even 2nd at the final stage... But this time he couldn't reach the podium. Despite of this Valery Gorban and Evgeniy Leonov was the luckiest crew of the Mentos Ascania Racing team - they were the most stable from the beginning till the end of Rally Sweden.
Unfortunately Aleksey Kikireshko and Vadim Chernega had one more retirement on Sunday - they crashed the car in a snowdrift.
The final podium of Rally Sweden became glorious for Ukraine: Martin Semerad from Czech Republic became the winner, Ukrainian driver Yuriy Protasov took the 2nd place, and the 3rd winner was Nicolas Fuchs from Peru. It's a pity, but Russian driver Dmirtiy Tagirov couldn't get higher than 6th place - he lost too much yesterday.
Of course this year Rally Sweden lost two fast P-WRC driver and the battle for the podium couldn't be really tight. But Mentos Ascania Racing did very important investment to the international image of the Ukrainian rally drivers. We built three sport cars by our own mechanics' team, passed the technical control and spent three days in competition with the best drivers in the world. We are going to take the Swedish experience with us to the rest of the P-WRC championship - it's just a start, see you in Portugal!

12.02.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing Mentos Ascania Racing - exciting Saturday
On Saturday Rally Sweden turned in lottery named "snowdrift"- a lot of crews reached the finish with mistakes and time wasting. Mentos Ascania Racing drivers had exiting day: Valeriy Gorban started the race on the 3rd place in P-WRC and kept it till the end of the day, Oleksandr Saliuk became a strong competitor, and Aleksey Kikireshko reached finish successfully without pit-stops on the roadside of the race.
From the beginning Patrik Flodin made a loud sensation - he was retired because of breaking technical rules: wheels of his Subaru were not in accordance with this year FIA regulations. Flodin was 3rd yesterday, thereby Saturday's intrigue of the race concentrated at other drivers. Ukrainian Mentos Ascania Racing became an important participant of the Swedish battle: at SS8 there was only 2 sec between Saliuk and Protasov.
Yesterday Saliuk complained about slippery road - there is no winter rally in Ukraine, so he did not have enough snow-driving skills. Russian driver Dmitriy Tagirov made the battle tough - he made a mistake at SS8 and lost the time in a snowdrift. Snow became a real evil for Russian crew: on the road section after SS12 Tagirov had an accident with a local private car. The spectator was not careful and didn't give an attention to the road situation - thereby Tagirov had to avoid the crush and direct his car out of the road. He couldn't release the car from the snow in time and was late at time control. Thereby Dmitry will start tomorrow - by the SupeRally system.
The battle at the first section of Rally Sweden was similar to the one at the last year Rally Yalta: Valeriy Gorban drove before Yuri Protasov, who was faster at the stages but Gorban kept his position in total ranking. From the beginning the distance between them was 55 sec, than it reduced till half of the minute: That was the distance of the one mistake and the delicate balance could be broken anytime. And the Rally Sweden situation changed for Gorban exactly unluckily as Yalta Rally did: just before the 1st section's finish Valeriy made a visit to a snowdrift and Protasov came forward.
Spectators could see remarkable battle between Ukrainian drivers - it continued after the service brake. On SS12 Valery Gorban was faster than Protasov for about 4 sec but Protasov took his priority back - win SS13. This "unlucky" stage become quite lucky for Saliuk - he was third there. But the total results after fourteen stages were the same: Valery Gorban became third, Protasov - second, and Saliuk could take only the eighth position.
The last part of the race made certain changes in the results: Valery Gorban lost his third position in the duel with Nicolas Fusch. After the service brake Fusch got faster and faster and after SS15 Nikolas became 3rd. But at the last SSS of this day Gorban finally took his priority back.
So Saturday's part of Rally Sweden finished - only 8 cars reached finish, and Martin Semerad became the leader of the PWRC ranking. All three cars of the Mentos Ascania Racing team came to the end of the day - Gorban was third, Saliuk become 8th and Kikireshko took the 9th place.
Valery Gorban: "Now Martin Semerad is the leader of our production category. Today it was a very difficult and interesting race in which we were doing our best. But tomorrow it will be a crucial day for all the participants in general and for our team in particular. We need all the encouragement of our fans to finish the last kilometers of the rally tomorrow. As to me - I drove with great pleasure today. I used to like wide roads but here in Sweden I like narrow ones. It's a surprise for myself!"
Oleksandr Saliuk: "I can say only one thing - the winter race is not habitual for me! So today's race was quite difficult for me, I'm always driving as fast as I can, but here, I think, I can't understand the local road yet"

11.02.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing comes through the 2nd day of the Rally Sweden
Snowy Sweden brought a lot of surprises for Ukrainian drivers - only two of three cars of the Mentos Ascania Racing broke the tape today. Valeriy Gorban demonstrated stable and fast day and became the best of the all Ukrainian participants. He took the 5th place in the P-WRC results.
For Alexey Kikireshko the day begun dramatically: on the SS2 he lost control at his car and got off the track. The car so deeply stuck in the snow that the crew couldn't release it by themselves. But now the mechanics repaired the car and Kikireshko is ready to continue the race tomorrow morning. Of course he can do it only in the SupeRally System. But Aleksey is not discouraged - his goal for Sweden is to finish all three days.
But the difficult snowy road was hard even for experienced and well-qualified Oleksandr Saliuk. His times on the SS were fast when he was stable and didn't make mistakes, but otherwise he loose his advantage on other stages. Twice he was a prisoner of the snow and wasted the time thereby his total result for today was only 8th place in P-WRC. A bit higher position got Yuriy Protasov - 6th result, but Dmitry Tagirov was the best Slavic driver and took the third place! Valery Gorban the owner of Mentos Ascania Racing team brought the best result to the team's moneybox - he showed very stable day and was pleased with a road condition.
Valery Gorban: "Yesterday was hard day for our team - we replaced the engine in the Saliuk's car, and hardly managed to do it right in time. But as for me the race is wonderful! All SS are interesting, but I wish the surface was a bit hard. Soft snow is not situable for wide wheels".
Oleksandr Saliuk: "Today I made some off-road race - I can hardly belive, but sometimes I couldn't understand this ice and snow surface at all. I used to drive on the gravel roads and now can't change my practice quikly enought"
Vadim Chernega: "Our mistake was made at the very high speed, but the car was not broken too much - I'd like to thank the snow! We slowed down and stopped in the deep snow. When I looked at the car, I thought we need the tank to move it out. But all the spectators came to help us, we digged the snow out and came back to the service park".

10.02.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing - Rally Sweden started!
Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing keeps it's winter experience on Rally Sweden. On Wednesday our drivers finished the second part of the recce, and on Thursday the rally program included the shakedown and the Super Special Stage (SSS).
Wednesday, 9.02, was quite taugh for Ukrainian team. The crews were concentrated at the recce and completed theirs stenogramms. This year Super Stages are not very long in general, but the total distance of the day looks like a big marathon. At this time the technical team has presented the cars for the technical inspection.
This part of the official rally procedure was very important experience for Mentos Ascania Racing team. Ukrainian engineers prepared two total new-build sports cars made by own hands of Ukrainian specialists. One car was completely rebuilt before the race. This time high professional level of the team had successful result - after the FIA inspection all three cars were entered the P-WRC list on the Rally Sweden.
On Thursday the weather was snowy and it was a perfect condition for shakedown tests. Unfortunately,Mentos Ascania Racing had to return two cars in the service park - Saliuk had some problems with the engine, Gorban - with transmission (differential). But thanks to the team's mechanics the cars were repaired and returned on the track for SSS in Karlstad.
This part of the race consists of the unique competition - all the cars are coming to the short track (only 1900 m) by pairs. In the pair Saliuk-Kikireshko Kikireshko was faster for 0,4 sec, and in the pair Tagirov-Gorban Valery Gorban was slower for the same 0,4 sec! Now the team is keeping comfortable pace and preparing for tomorrow. Friday is going to be very important day for Mentos Ascania Racing - we wish all the best for our drivers.
Pavel Cherepin: "The road is very difficult. We assumed Rally Sweden will be hard, and we really can see it - Sweden is a true stage of WRC! All of SS here are different and unpredictable".
Evgeniy Leonov: "The shakedown was incredible! The road was perfect, my pilot was fast and self- confident. Only one thing made us sad - the differential broke too quickly and it was very pity to finish shakedown after just one lap. New wide tyres are a bit unfamiliar for us - they could keep the car well steered on the tight surface, but on the loose snow the tyres make driving very unstable".

08.0.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing in Sweden - the first part of the recce
Mentos Ascania Racing arrived to Sweden where our team is preparing to the start of the 1st stage of P-WRC championship, Rally Sweden. Valery Gorban, Oleksandr Saliuk and Aleksey Kikireshko finalized all the necessary documental procedures of the Administrative control on Monday. And three of our crews were on recce all the Tuesday.
Despite of the weather forecast this racing week-end is going to be snowy and cold: the temperature reached minus 5 C point and the big snowfall was falling till the day. Thereby Rally Sweden is going to be true winter experience for Ukrainian drivers.
Mentos Ascania Racing is waiting for the very important part of the rally - technical control and the rest part of the recce. We wish good luck to all the participants of the Rally Sweden and especially Ukrainian Mentos Ascania Racing team.
Valery Gorban: After the first part of the recce I could say this road is very different: in some places it looks similar to Karelia, in others - to Vyuborg. The road is mostly located in forests, but today's SS are very fast. We can see more features of the SS's during the race itself, just wait and see.
Evgeniy Leonov: Winter road is perfect! It's covered with snow and ice, there are lots of jumps, hard narrow turns. It's quite difficult and interesting for the crew - that's our first impression.
Pavel Cherepin: Oleksandr Saliuk and I are very exited with today's SS - from the beginning to the end of the today's recce it was very interesting. We finalized 90 km of SS today and 600 km in total, and feel tired now. But the road is wonderful and it's really hard to leave this rally.
Vadim Chernega: It's a comfortable classic winter here: the temperature is not very cold, and the snow covered the road for 40 sm. This rally has perfect and unique road - I can't compare it with Ukrainian rallies at all. I think here, in Northern Europe, the roads are the best rally roads in the world.

31.01.11 - Mentos Ascania Racing going to Rally Sweden P-WRC 2011
Ukrainian rally team Mentos Ascania Racing is going to participate in Rally Sweden, which will be held till 10-13 February 2011 near Karlstad. The team enters championship with three cars - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX driven by Valery Gorban, Oleksandr Saliuk and Alexey Kikireshko. Rally Sweden will be the first race in team's P-WRC program. Last year Oleksandr Saliuk and Valery Gorban took part in three races of NEZ series and Rally of Turkey - that were first steps for completed world championship of 2011.
P-WRC is limited to production-based cars homologated under the Group N. It became popular in all around the world and now involves 7 races and teams from 14 countries. For the first time in the world rallying history P-WRC championship includes so many participants from the former Soviet Union: Yuriy Protasov and three Mentos Ascania Racing cars and one Russian crew of Dmitry Tagirov. Thereby 2011 P-WRC championship was even called "USSR Rally Cup" in fan audience. Oleksandr Saliuk and Yuriy Protasov were warring competitors for absolute title in Ukrainian native championship during several years so their meeting on P-WRC rallies could be one of the most exciting battle of Rally Sweden.
The history of Rally Sweden started in 1950 and the rally kept on as a summer rally until 1965. It became one of the most popular race in all WRC championship since that. Rally Sweden is the only true winter rally of the year with snow and ice covered gravel and low temperature as low as -25 . It has a unique cross-border stage which runs in Norway and Sweden both. Total distance of SS of the rally is 348 km for 2011, the longest one is 24,63 km and the shortest - 1,9 km (Karlstad SSS).
The rally is going to be the hard test for Mentos Ascania Racing. All team's cars were built by own hands of Ukrainian specialists and Mentos Ascania Racing is native manufacturer of rally cars. Two of three cars are absolutely new and now the team is preparing to the most important procedure of Rally Sweden - technical inspection.
Mentos Ascania Racing is going to take its own place in the common list of such sport cars manufacturers as Top Run Racing, Ralli Art, Prodrive, URT and so on. They all have strong reputation and clients: P-WRC championship itself is unofficial " competition" among sport cars manufacturers. Ukrainian cars have to be as fast, reliable and strong as possible to make trustworthy image for their builders. So Mentos Ascania Racing makes its own manufacturer's debut on Rally Sweden.

Oleksandr Saliuk: "I have no idea about my plans and goals for this rally, the main purpose for me is just to finish the rally. We didn't have enough time to prepare for WRC so I planned to take maximum from official tests on February 7th. I'm not going to concentrate on Yuriy Protasov - my native competitor from Ukraine. I'm going to do my best."
Evgeniy Leonov: "There is no surprise in snow-covered road for our crew - we have an experience of that kind of rallies and tests. According to the meteorological forecast it's going to be warm weather - temperatures can reach above 0 degrees and it may be raining. It's not winter weather at all! As for three days racing program I think it would be quite comfortable for us".
Vadim Chernega: "During my career I already had long races .The most hardest thing in long races is the ability to keep yourself concentrated for a long time. During the official test program we are going to understand more about new type of studded tires with wide wheels and driving conditions".
